A Foreigner
intending to trek in any part of the
Kingdom of Nepal shall have to
obtain a trekking permit from the
Department of Immigration,
Kalikasthan, Dillibazar, Kathmandu
or Pokhara and permits are issued
for trekking in any part of the
country except in areas restricted
for the foreigners by the government
regulation. Trekking permit is not
essential for the general trekking
areas such as the Everest, the
Annapurna and the Langtang. You have
need to pay entrance fee per person
US$ 30 or NPR 2000 for Annapurna and
US$ 15 or NPR 1000 for Everest and
Langtang trekking region.
Permit fees are quoted in US$ but
payable in Nepali Rupees as date of
equivalent rates. Trekking permits
will not be extended past tour Visa
and Passport. 2 passport photos
(black/white) required for each
trekkers .If you are trekking in
more than one region, separate
trekking permits are necessary for
each region.
Trekking Permit Fees :
1. Lower Dolpa - Equivalent to US$
10 per person per week for the first
four weeks and US$ 20 per week
thereafter.
2. Upper Dolpa - For the first 10
days per person US $ 500 and after
10 days per person per day US $ 50
3 . Kanchenjunga - Equivalent to US$
10 per person per week for the first
weeks
4. Manaslu Area - US$ 70 per person
per week for trekking during Sept -
Nov and and US$ 75 per week during
December - August.
5. Upper Mustang - For the first 10
days per person US $ 500 and after
10 days per person per day US $ 50
6. Humla (Simikot-Yari) : For the
first week per person US $ 50 and
after 7 days per person per day US $
10
7. Dolakha Area ( Gauri Shankar &
Lamabager )- Per week per person US
$ 10 or equivalent convertible
foreign currency.
8. Rasuwa District - Per week per
person US $ 10 or equivalent
convertible foreign currency.
9. Sankhuwasabha District - For the
first 4 weeks per week per person US
$ 10 and after 4 weeks per week per
person per day US $ 20
10.Makalu Regions - For the first 4
weeks per week per person US $ 10
and after 4 weeks per week per
person per day US $ 20
11. Solukhumbu or Everest region -
For the first 4 weeks per week per
person US $ 10 and after 4 weeks per
week per person per day US $ 20
12. Manang District - From Sep-Nov
per week per person US $ 90 and
Dec-Aug per week per person US $ 75
13. Mugu District - For the first 7
days per day per person US $ 90 and
after 7 days per day per person per
day US $ 7
Note : Trekking to Dolpa,
Kanchenjunga, Makalu and Upper
Mustang can be undertaken through
registered trekking agencies only.
For trekking through National Park
Areas, and entrances fee of Rs. 650
is levied. Likewise, an entrance fee
of Rs. 2000 is levied for trekking
at the Annapurna Conservation Area
by the ACAP.

conservational area. Trekkers
visiting both the conservation areas
will require obtaining individual
entry permits for each conservation
